Course: The Olympia Branch is offering a Leadership course for hikers, scramblers, climbers, winter travelers and kayakers. The gist of the course will be generic leadership; the concepts and principles common to leading any Mountaineer activity. Additionally, individual branch activities will cover topics unique to their activity. Using situational exercises, students will have an opportunity to explore and develop their own leadership style and observe and learn from the leadership styles of their fellow students.

Eligibility: must be a member of the Mountaineers.

Cost: $25 - includes textbook, Outdoor Leadership by John Graham.

Class Size: 20

Graduation Requirements:

  1. Attend all three evening leadership workshops
  2. Complete the navigation course
  3. Must hold or obtain a current MOFA card
  4. Serve successfully as an assistant leader on one branch activity
