2011 Mountaineering-Oriented First Aid (MOFA) Course
Course Chair: Eric Quinn 360-556-4969
Co-Chair:Tom Eckhout 360-556-9898
MOFA is a three and a half day course offering essential safety and first aid skills for those who enjoy climbing, hiking, and other wilderness activities. The class builds prevention and basic first aid skills using the Seven Steps to help you effectively respond to trail emergencies with the gear you carry. Hands-on outdoor practice with your gear is a key part of the class. You'll respond to scenarios based on actual mountaineering incidents and instructor experiences. We will be spending time outside rain or shine, so please come dressed to spend time outdoors. Bring your pack ready for a day on the trail. Include extra clothing, trekking poles, your current first aid kit and the rest of your 10 Essentials. We have a lot of material to cover so the pace will be fast. Come prepared to have fun and be challenged while learning mountaineering oriented first aid.
